2020 Interactive Scripts Competition

Hanhai Studio in collaboration with Branches Interactive held the Final Pitch Competition for the 2020 Scripts Competition this past Monday on March 30th via online live stream. Due to the unexpected spread of COVID-19, the originally scheduled event that was supposed to take place on location in Los Angeles was moved online to align with the safety measures and the city’s regulations. The Final Pitch Competition showcased the top 10 finalists selected from the scripts that were submitted during the entry period between January and February. These 10 finalists were given an opportunity to present their pitch bible to the competition’s esteemed panel of judges.

Hanhai Studio Cross-border Entrepreneurship Hub is launching in Hangzhou, China

Hanhai Studio is launching a cross-border entrepreneurship hub in Hangzhou. The hub is located in Hangzhou International Talents Entrepreneurship and Innovation Park (HITEIP), Gongshu District, one of the main urban areas in the city of Hangzhou. The hub will serve as an incubation and acceleration platform. This 13,000 sqft platform serves to provide both industry resources and crucial operational facilities to assist cross-border companies in the China market entry process. With our expertise and established network of resources & acceleration platforms, we not only help our clients explore the right opportunities to grow their business in China, but also help them navigate all the complexities of entering a foreign market.

HITEIP, established in July 2017, is located alongside the world-class cultural heritage site, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, as the first international talent entrepreneurship and innovation park in China. The park consists of two buildings totaling 48,000 square meters with convenient transportation and support facilities. Since its establishment, HITEIP has introduced high-end international projects from multiple countries including Germany, US, UK, Canada, Austria and others.

Knowledge Sharing Webinar (Featuring M.J. Wang)

On February 29th, 2020, Hanhai Studio and M.J. Wang, former Head of China at Riot Games, launched a webinar discussing the impact of COVID-19 on the esports industry in China along with insights into online esports competitions. During the webinar, M.J. offered indepths analysis of development of the esports industry in both US and China as well as international deal making between the two countries. We hope to offer more knowledge sharing webinar sessions throughout this time, striving to provide market insights into the US-China entertainment industry.

COVID-19: Supporting the Frontlines

In an effort to support the healthcare workers who are working tirelessly day and night to protect us, we would like to give back in any way that we can. Recently, our Director of Operations delivered a box of hospital grade protective equipment to the Los Angeles Department of Health Services, Medical Health Operational Area Coordination program in Santa Fe Springs.
